Julie Laffin is a performance installation artist whose work centers around the theme of 'the dress', and notions of the perceived excesses of femininity. She often constructs and wears overly large gowns in public places, forcing the viewers to negotiate their relationship to her. A three-time award winner of the Illinois Arts Council grant, she has performed internationally.
