Rosa Mesa was born in the Canary Islands and immigrated to Toronto in 1995. She attended OCAD and graduated in 2002. Mesa is a multidisplinary artist whose practice extends to installations, performance, video and public interventions. Her work explores areas of semiotics and the art practice, identity, nomadism, migration, feminism and the hybrid and changing state of contemporary culture. She currently lives in Berlin and Las Palmas. Her work has been exhibited in Spain, Canada, Serbia, Corea, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, France, Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba.
