Keli Safia Maksud is Kenyan visual artist based in Toronto. Concerned with the history of the colonial encounter and its effect on memory, Maksud's interdisciplinary practice explores contemporary visual languages in order to investigate legacies of colonialism. Maksud graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2007 and her works have been shown in galleries and venues in Kenya, Canada and the United States.
